Hanging In

January 15, 2008

Well, for the last two days I did my 3k walks and even attempted some running.  Im not great, but it sure does seem easier than when I started in 05.  I didnt get in a walk today, the wind was SOOO gross.  But I do have bellydance tonight and am looking forward to that.

Yep

January goal

January 12, 2008

I have decided that my goal is 15 k per week in January.   That is pretty easy, and perhaps lame.  But thats is for now, and I will increase it for Feb.. or maybe just beat my goal for January.

I have been thinking of what could be a good motavator for myself.  Linda and I talked about it for a bit.  After her talk, yesterday, I went for a 5k walk and dreamed about something I have been tossing around for a year now.

I would like to start a shape up, get fit, or some kind of bootcamp club.  If I started a club, and we kind of ran it like the biggest loser or something,, I would have to get in shape.

Does anyone know of something like this.  We live so far in the country, that we do not have access to the pleasures of town/city.

I have reached my weeks goal of 15 k,

Yep

History

January 8, 2008

During a crash on the blogs sometime last year.  I lost all my posts from 2005 and on.  I always thought I would have these to look back on and compare to what I am doing now.

I did find my log accounts tho.  In 2005 I started out the year much the same as now.  Overweight, and not in shape.  It took 5 months to lose 10 pounds.  I remember feeling so discouraged, trying to convince myself, the fat was turning to muscle.  This was the reason I was not losing.

Perhaps this is true.  Weight is such a struggle as so many of you know and can relate.

ok, well in 2005 , by the end of the year I had done 642.6 KM.

In 2006, I dropped to 194.1 km.

In 2007, I didnt even bother to record anything.. So maybe 20 or 30km..

That is so sad,  why didnt I keep up with a healthy lifestyle?  Why didnt I stay fit?

Yesterday, I walked 3 k with my dogs.

Yep

A Sweat?

January 7, 2008

Jan 6, I did not go with my Mom, ( my mom and dad live in the same yard as us).

So I went 3k with my dogs, walking, but I did walk fast and a couple times broke out in a slow jog.  By the end, I did work up a sweat. lol, sounds so lame but its a beginning, and its mine,, so yahoooo.

Yep.

Walk in the woods

January 6, 2008

Jan. 4 I walked with my Mom.  There was a STRONG Chinook wind.   Which felt quite cold, even tho it was melting at the same time.  We walked a different way, which is through the big ol poplar trees that grow along the Red Deer River.  It was alot more fun, of course I had all my dogs with me.  Two Wolfhounds,  Gem and Rock, a greyhound, Bisquit, and a jack russel, Skitter.  So keeping them from hunting down deer is a full time job.  We also saw moose poop,, least I think it was moose,, maybe Elk.  They are rare for around here, but the last few years there have been some sightings.

All in all, I think we did about 4k.

Yep.

Come on Home

January 4, 2008

Today we trailed our cows home from the summer pasture. yeah I know, summer is long gone.   However, we still had plenty of grass and the cows were doing pretty good.

It is about 5 or 6 miles to trail home, so I figured that I recieved my fresh air and exercise out there riding.

umm, yeah, not cardio,, but I will get to that.:)

Yesterday I walked 5k, it felt good, tho I sure can tell I am so outta shape,  I felt it in my knees,, and I was not even running.

Take Care,

A Start
